This cable uses uses the relay (or transistor) in the radio to key the amplifier, note that the relay keying speed may not be suitable for QSK CW operation.
ICOM Radios – Plug one end of cable (RCA Phono connector) into SEND jack of ICOM transceiver.
Yaesu FTdx-3000 – This radio has an RCA jack on the rear panel labeled TX GND for keying an amplifier. Plug one RCA connector end of cable into TX GND jack of transceiver.
Do not use this cable with amplifiers that exceed the limits of the transistor in the FTdx-3000 on their key line (60vdc/200ma or 30vdc/1A).
Other Radios – Plug one end of cable (RCA Phono connector) into appropriate amplifier keying jack on rear of radio.
Plug the other end of the cable (RCA Phono plug) into RCA jack labeled KEY IN (or RELAY) on rear panel of Alpha amplifier.
