Kenwood amplifier keying cable (Alpha 9500, 8410, 8406, 8100, 87A, 89, 99, 91B), for TS-990, TS-2000, TS-590, also TS-950, TS-850, TS-450, TS-870, TS-570. Made with RG316/U Coaxial Cable (Teflon insulation), 6 ft long.
The +12vdc in radio (Pin 7, REMOTE Conn) is keyed and turns on transistor in connector shell to key amp (40vdc / 200ma max). Amp keying relay in many radio models can be turned OFF. Older Kenwood models not listed may not key the +12vdc on REMOTE connector.
NOTE: This circuit does NOT work with TS-940, TS-930, TS-440, TS-430 radios. They do not have 12v available on the REMOTE connector. Use the amplifier keying relay connections as described in the Kenwood manual (pins 4 and 2).
