Alpha 9500 remote 1.4 notes There is no installer. To install, just move the unzipped folder to a place of your choice. Normally, programs go in the "Program Files" file on your computer. On a Windows 7 machine, you can put it in the "Program Files (x86) file on your computer. If you are running Windows XP, the application will not run unless you have .Net v4.0 or above installed on your computer. This is available as a free download from Microsoft Windows Update. You should make a new file folder called Alpha, and then drag the "alpha9500_remote_1_4" file into the Alpha folder you just created. Then, open the "alpha9500_remote_1_4" folder, RIGHT click the "Alpha9500Remote.exe", drag it to your desktop, and select "Create Shortcut". This will put an icon on your desktop that points at the 9500 Remote application. Connect your Alpha 9500 to your computer via the USB or Serial port on the amplifier. When you click on the icon, you'll be asked for the com port you're going to use. Use the drop down box to select the correct com port. The application will start and show the Firmware version of the code in your amplifier on the top windows bar where the program name shows up. The buttons and display should act pretty much like the actual amplifier. Since we're sending and receiving commands over the serial or usb link, there is some delay on fast moving changes. We've included a way to run the COLT boot loader from inside the 9500 application. If you would like to update your amplifiers code, you can download it from the alpha website, put it in the "boot loader" folder inside the "alpha9500_remote_1_4" folder, go to the options menu and select "EEPROM Tools -> Launch Bootloader" and use the Colt boot loader normally. We've provided a way to change the band edges, but you need to call us for a one day password in order to access that menu. Normally, there's no reason to change the pre programmed band edges, but some MARS operations require it. You can also download a copy of your EEPROM from the options menu, and it generates a report showing the different configuration bytes that the amp uses to initialize itself and run. If you find a bug, drop us a note. Alpha Amplifiers
